Function of valve spring

As a car owner, it is better to learn more about cars. Here, we help you understand the role of valves and valve springs. As we all know, an engine burns and explodes by inhaling air and oil mixed into the engine cylinders, and then emits combustion exhaust gas. The mechanism responsible for the intake and exhaust of the four row engine is the valve.

The function of the valve spring is to overcome the inertial force of the valve and transmission components during the valve closing process.

Purpose: To prevent the clearance between transmission components caused by the action of inertial forces, ensure the timely installation and tight fit of the valve, and prevent the valve from bouncing during engine vibration and damaging its sealing.

Tool description: The valve spring is located between the cylinder head and the spring seat at the end of the valve rod. The function of the valve spring is to ensure a tight fit with the valve seat or seat ring when the valve is closed, overcome the inertial force generated by the gas distribution mechanism when the valve is opened, and ensure that the transmission components are always controlled by the cam without separation from each other.

Valve is one of the most important components in an engine. Valves are divided into intake and exhaust valves. Its appearance is similar to the shape of a horn. The intake valve is made of high-grade heat-resistant alloy steel, STELITE cobalt chromium tungsten alloy steel, and other materials, used for air entering the intake manifold and made of silicon chromium steel wire. This allows the spring to have sufficient stiffness and fatigue resistance to withstand frequent compression loads, and maintains appropriate elasticity.

After the valve spring breaks, the broken spring can be removed and the two broken parts installed in turn can be used. You can also find a millimeter thick iron sheet and cut it into a circular piece that is 1mm larger than the spring diameter. Inside, a circular hole is cut with a diameter of 4mm smaller than the spring diameter. The outer edge is cut into 4mm long cracks every 6mm, and folded every other to form a double-sided spring seat groove. Then, transfer the spring into the iron groove. If the spring breaks into several parts, the entry of the cylinder can be removed. The exhaust valve adjusting screw keeps the valve closed and stops the cylinder from working.
