What are the two fixing methods for valve spring seats?

One end of the valve spring is supported on the cylinder head, while the other end is pressed against the spring seat at the valve stem end. The shape of the valve stem end depends on the connection method of the valve spring seat. There are two types of connection methods for valve spring seats: lock plate type and lock pin type. However, regardless of the connection method, its function is to connect the valve spring seat and the valve.

(1) The locking plate type is formed by dividing a complete hollow cone into two halves, with an annular protrusion in the inner hole, and a conical central hole in the spring seat, which closely matches the outer conical surface of the locking plate. The locking plate connection mode is divided into clamping type and non clamping type. When using a non clamping connection, the two parts of the lock in the installed state support each other, leaving a gap between the lock and the valve stem end, allowing the valve to rotate, contributing to valve movement and valve seat cleaning.

(2) The locking pin type fixing method is relatively simple. After pressing down the spring seat together with the spring, insert the locking pin into the radial hole at the rear of the valve stem. After loosening the spring seat, the locking pin is located exactly in the recess on the outer side of the spring seat, preventing the spring seat from falling out.

The fixing method of the valve spring seat is as follows:

One end of the valve spring is supported on the cylinder head and the other end is pressed against the spring seat at the valve stem end. The shape of the valve stem end is determined by the connection method of the valve spring seat;

The locking type is to divide a complete hollow cone into two halves, with an annular convex inner hole and a conical central hole of the spring seat, which closely fits the outer cone surface of the lock;

The valve assembly is a structural component of the engine valve train and plays a very important role in engine operation. The working rotation of a fuel engine consists of four working processes: intake, compression, work, and exhaust. In order for the engine to rotate continuously, it is necessary to make these four work flow cycles orderly. If abnormal valve noise is found, the problem must be corrected immediately to avoid damaging the engine.
