When the valve clearance is too small, although the noise is low, during operation, the valve may not close tightly due to thermal expansion of the valve, causing air leakage, causing overheating and ablation of the valve and valve seat. Especially for diesel engines, if the valve clearance is too small, it can also lead to insufficient cylinder compression pressure, which reduces engine power, and in severe cases, it is difficult to start (diesel engines rely on compression ignition). At the same time, too small valve clearance can also lead to incomplete combustion of the combustible mixture, resulting in a significant increase in HC content in exhaust emissions. Excessive valve clearance, late opening and early closing of the valves, not only cause high operating noise, but also cause insufficient intake air and dirty exhaust. When the piston goes down, the mixture continues to burn, causing the engine (especially at the exhaust manifold) to overheat, reducing engine power, and increasing fuel consumption.

Removal method of valve gasket: Remove the decorative plastic cover on the top of the engine, and tap the valve cover with a soft hammer to loosen it. Do not use metal tools to pry, as they can chisel aluminum cylinder heads and cause persistent leaks. Next, remove and mark any hoses, cables, and electrical connectors connected to the valve cover, and then remove the spark plug. If you see any oil pools in the spark plug tube, clean them with a cloth wrapped around a screwdriver. If necessary, replace the spark plug with a new one. Loosen the valve cover and lift it off the engine.
